FabLab Belfast
Fab Lab in Belfast is a place where you can make (almost) anything, it is open to anyone and everyone who has an interest in making things.
There are two Fab Labs in Northern Ireland – one in Derry-Londonderry, one in Belfast – both part of a worldwide system based at Fab Central at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The idea is to explore the relationship between the real and the virtual, using computer-based design to make a real, tangible, physical structure. From the computers using the most up-to-date design software to the laser printers to the laser cutter to the latest MakerBot 3D printers that have just arrived and are sitting in their boxes waiting to be unpacked, Fab Lab is stuffed to the gills with machines that make.
